Description
We are in Antwerp, a city and municipality of Belgium, as well as the capital of the homonymous province of Flanders.

The film opens with a road and signs informing us that Antwerp is straight ahead while the areas of Zavantem and Diegem are on the right. With shots from the moving car, we see the area and the nearby houses.

The view changes with a woman who walks in the Grote Markt (Great Market Square) of Antwerp, which is situated in the heart of the old city quarter. The camera shows us the luxurious town hall, numerous ornate guildhalls (buildings used historically by guilds) of the 16th century and the nearby restaurants and cafes. The woman photographs the view and the sights as the filmmaker focuses on the BONAPARTE building, which now functions as a restaurant/bar.

The filmmaker shows us a series of bronze statues and then we see Groenplaats (Green Square). The woman wanders as she’s reading a book and we can see the Cathedral of Our Lady, a Roman Catholic church that contains a number of significant works by the painter Peter Paul Rubens, whose bronze statue we see in the shot. It is the city’s tallest building and its bell tower is included in the Belfries list of Belgium and France in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The woman continues reading and the filmmaker shows us the building that housed Belgium's first department store Grand Bazar and now houses the Hilton Hotel. The woman continues her walk in the city and the lens gives us an overview of the whole area as well as the river Scheldt.

The film closes with the river and the medieval fortress of Het Steen.
