Description
Hydra (or Ydra) is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece in the wider geographical area that includes the Saronic Gulf in Attica, the Argolic Gulf and the southern Argolic coast in the Peloponnese, Greece.

The only settlement on the island is built amphitheatrically at the deepest point of a closed bay, surrounded by bare and rocky mountains. The filmmaker, from a speedboat, gives us shots from the route to Hydra where we see the mountains of Argolida, two or three rocky islets until we come across to the north side of the island.

As we approach the island, we see the imposing three-story and four-story, but simple and well-preserved, mansions many of which were homes of militant families, during the Greek Revolution of 1821.

We can also see the bell tower with a clock that is part of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

In the port, we see boats and larger vessels, a panoramic of Hydra’s town, tourists who board on the ferryboat, a man with his donkey on the road and the quiet life on the island’s goes on.
