It's time to say goodbye to Kyoto and Japan, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, we hear the filmmaker’s voice as we watch views of the specially designed platform for Shinkansen, before he gets on one of the bullet trains.
We observe one of the departing trains recording its bullet-shaped finish. The bullet train is one of the first trains on the Tokyo-Shinkansen line that was completed a few days before the start of the Olympic Games in Japan.
In 1964 when it was first released, its speed reached 200 km per hour.
In 1981 the bullet trains had max speed of 280 km per hour but it traveled at 210 km per hour for a fast and comfortable journey and it was moving so smoothly on the rails, without vibration and shakings, that the actual speed was perceived only by looking out the window as the scenery was disappearing.
