Description
We are in Thermopylae, in the Prefecture of Phthiotis, in Greece.

The film opens with a woman who walks on the beach of Kammena Vourla. The view changes and the filmmaker with a zoom-in shot shows us the OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation S.A) satellite ground station.

In 1970, the first Satellite Communications Center operated for the first time in Thermopylae, laying the foundations for the establishment of Greece as an international telecommunication hub. The "Satellite Communication Center Thermopylae” is inaugurated, ensuring telecommunication connection of Greece with the countries of the Atlantic Ocean, England, Canada, the United States.

Afterwards, we are on the road and we see a road sign that informs us that the Satellite Ground Station is on the right. We see footage from the route and the arrival at the Station. A man poses for the camera with the satellite dish behind him.

The film closes with the monument of Thermopylae or Monument of Leonidas, which was built in 1955, by the sculptor Vassos Falireas and is consisted of the bronze statue of Leonidas with a spear and a shield in the center, the marble figures of the personified mountain Taygetos, the highest mountain of the Peloponnese and the personalized river Eurotas that flows through the whole of Laconia which are at the right side and the left side of the sculpture and at a lower height.
