Description
We are in the center of Athens, the capital of Greece, in the garden of Zappeion Megaron. We see the marble sculpture "Satyr on the rock" which depicts a cheerful companion of the god of festivity, Dionysus, with curly hair that ends up in grapes, sitting on a rock while he holds a wind musical instrument in his hand. It is a work of art by the sculptor Georgios Dimitriadis.

The next shot is from Syntagma Square, on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue and apart from the heavy traffic of buses, vehicles and passers-by, we see the Lycabettus Hill, emblematic for Athens, and we can clearly see at the top of it, the small church of Saint Georgios.

The camera turns and reveals the Doric style facade of the Greek Parliament building with its majestic pediments and imposing colonnades.

Then we move to Stadiou Street, a major shopping street of that era and we realize from the festive decoration that it is Christmas days. Lots of people walk around in the street, shopping.

We see footage from the famous department store "Athénée" (Tsitsopoulos Bros.), which was destroyed by fire in 1981.
