Description
Moving by car towards the seaside village of Frikes in Ithaca, we see shots from the sharp turns of the road that reaches the edge of the cliff. Just before we enter the village Frikes, the two green hills rise in front of us and at the entrance of the village we see one of the two windmills above the rocks that looks like an observatory welcoming us.

We watch the traditional architecture of the houses, the boats that are tied to small wooden piers and the lens stands on the foliage of a tree that swing by the light breeze.

Afterwards, we see shots as the car moves towards Vathi, the capital of Ithaca. We watch shots from the mountains of Kefalonia, the Ionian Sea and the road that goes along the edge of the cliff.

As we reach the narrow lane of land that connects the northern with the southern part of the island, we leave Kefalonia from our field of vision to meet the southern side of Ithaca where the filmmaker gives us shots of the hills and the mountains that surround the natural harbor of the island’s capital.

We see Skarpoutzonisi, the top of Mount Niion and wild olive trees that are exposed to the blows of the wind.

The film closes with their foliage casting their shadow on the wrinkled sea just before dusk.

Creator's description

The coast road is beautiful. As we drive along we get an excellent view of the neighbouring island of Kefalonia across the strait.

At one point the neck of land is very narrow, and you pass within a matter of seconds from one side of the island to the other. One moment the sea is on your right hand, the next it is on your left.
